授業の目的	The purpose of this class is to study legal English terminology. During the course, students will be taught some general principles of Private International Law (‘PIL’). Students will be assigned to read short excerpts from various text-books, law reviews or court decisions and encouraged to discuss these issues in the class. This is a comparative course: we will analyse how cases with foreign elements are solved in Japan, US and EU. During the course we will discuss some of the recent cases which received much attention and caused the changes of PIL.

授業の進め方	Students are expected to prepare for the class and actively participate in the discussion.
