履修条件 |
This course requires students to attend every week and read the class reading materials. In addition, students are required to write a class report at the end of the course. The deadline for the report will be agreed in consultation with the students. |

授業の目的 |
This course has two main objectives:
1. To teach students practical legal English by reading and discussing English language law materials;
2. To provide an introduction to some of the basic concepts of US and English law. The primary focus of the class will be on medical law. |

1. Euthanasia
2. Assisted Suicide
3. In Vitro Fertilization
4. Organ Transplants
5. Transsexuals
6. Cloning
7. Siamese twins
8. Informed consent |

授業の進め方 |
Each week students will receive an assigned reading and a number of questions or exercises. You are expected to complete all readings before the next class. The class will be interactive and all students will be expected to participate in class discussion. |

There is no set textbook for this class.
Every week students will be given some short readings in English.
The class readings will be newspaper articles or court judgments. |
