The purposes of this class are: (1) to introduce students to general and linguistic vocabulary; (2) to improve the studentsf reading comprehension (Ηπόγ); (3) to improve the studentsf summarizing skills (vρ\Νόγ); (4) to encourage students to discuss issues related to the contents of the text read during the class.

1. Before the Class / φΖΜO Reading materials will be handed out at least one week in advance. Students are expected to complete the assigned readings before attending the class.
2. During the Class / φΖ During the class, students are expected: (1) to read aloud one or more paragraphs of the assigned reading material; (2) to answer questions concerning the contents of the paragraph(s) read aloud.

This work remains non-technical in style. Therefore, it is accessible to students with no previous knowledge of linguistics.
