履修条件 |
The ability to read a book of around 200 pages in English. |
授業の目的 |
This class will introduce students to reading, understanding, summarizing and presenting texts in English. To achieve this goal, we will use the book "Tomorrow’s Lawyers: An Introduction to Your Future" written by Richard Susskind. |
授業の概要・計画 |
The book “Tomorrow’s Lawyers: An Introduction to Your Future” consists of 18 chapters. Each week one chapter will be discussed. Students will be appointed to do so. Other students are encouraged to also read the chapters in order to give comments or ask questions.
At the end of the course, students are required to submit a short review (summary) of the book. |
授業の進め方 |
Each week, students are expected to present a chapters out of the book Tomorrow’s Lawyers: An Introduction to Your Future". Each chapter is about 10 pages.
The selected students expected to read their respective chapter(s), prepare a PowerPoint and present the chapter.
After each presentation, relevant legal terms will be picked up and explained. |

成績評価の方法・基準 |
The evaluation will be based upon 1) a presentation; 2) class participation and 3) a short book review. |
