Branislav HAZUCHA
Professor of International Legal Studies

Intellectual Property Law, Regulation of Emerging Technologies and Cultural Industries, Comparative Law, Empirical Legal Studies

Branislav Hazucha is a Professor of International Legal Studies. His primary research interests focus on studying the impact of intellectual property protection on cultural production and the development of new information and communication technologies. In his research, he employs interdisciplinary, empirical, and comparative analysis.
He teaches courses on international and comparative intellectual property law, as well as comparative private law. He has previously taught at Hokkaido University and Nagoya University in Japan, as well as at several other universities in Asia and Europe.

He has extensively published on copyright and patent law in English, Japanese, and Slovak. He is a co-author of the award-winning commentary on Slovak copyright law (with Zuzana Adamova), published by C. H. Beck. His scholarly articles have been published in law reviews such as Law Quarterly Review and Copyright Law Journal.
Before entering academia, he practiced law and worked for the Slovak government. He obtained his law degrees from the University of Oxford (MJur), Comenius University (LL.M.), Trnava University (Dr. jur.), and Kyushu University (LL.D.).

Branislav Hazucha is a Professor of International Legal Studies.
