TKDL
traditional knowledge digital library
New Delhi, India The TKDL is envisioned to be a 30-million page codified electronic encyclopedia of India`s traditional medicine which is online, searchable, and developed by Indian doctors, software engineers, patent examiners and other experts. TKDL will feature local Indian names of plants that are converted into botanical names, while Ayurvedic descriptions of diseases are converted into modern medical terminology.

As a form of defensive protection of indigenous knowledge,
it is the first of its kind in the world.
