| 授業の目的 |
This course provides a practical overview of intellectual property laws in Japan, with a particular focus on patents, copyrights, and trademarks. These topics will be discussed in the context of other jurisdictions, including the EU, the U.S., and various Asian countries. |

| 到達目標 |
Students are expected to gain practical training on how to utilize the tools offered by intellectual property laws to protect their clients’ rights. Japanese-speaking students are additionally expected to obtain the skill to explain intellectual property law practice to foreign clients in English. |
| 授業の概要 |
知的財産の法律実務において、重要なイシューについて、英語を用いて解説します。取り扱うケースのいくつかは、「知的財産と法」または「知的財産紛争処理」と共通のものとなります。一方、これら二科目で扱う特許法および著作権法以外のケースも取り扱います。 |
| 授業の概要(英語) |
This course provides a practical overview of intellectual property laws in Japan, with a particular focus on patents, copyrights, and trademarks. These topics will be discussed in the context of other jurisdictions, including the EU, the U.S., and various Asian countries. Students will gain practical training on how to utilize the tools offered by intellectual property laws to protect their rights. Prior knowledge of basic economics and social network analysis is beneficial for students taking this course. Legal practitioners are expected to be skilled readers and drafters of legal texts such as laws, contracts, patent claims, and court opinions, not PowerPoint wizards. This course will not provide training on becoming a PowerPoint wizard using trendy buzzwords that come and go. Students expecting such training opportunities should look for another course that suits their needs. The terms examined in this course are limited to those that are established or expected to be established in legal practice. |

| 試験・成績評価等 | 期末試験を行う。毎回のクラスにおけるスキルとナレッジの獲得の度合を30%、期末試験又はそれに代わる方法の結果を70%として成績を評価します。 |

あらかじめ配信される資料を閲覧し、知らない用語やスキームについては、 Web等で調べ、あるいは、質問する用意をすることを、おすすめします。 |
| 課題レポート等 | 期末試験として、レポートの提出を求めます。 |

| その他 |
1) 講義は、英語によって、行われます。ただし、Extra Session（11月7日、14:50-16:20）のみ、日本語で行います。 2) この科目は、九州大学法学府修士課程国際コース(LL.M.)との共同開講です。 3) この科目は、九州大学伊都キャンパス イーストゾーン で開講されます。教室は、E-E-109 の予定です。 4) 事前に教員にemailで連絡のうえ、オンライン(zoom)で参加することができます。なお、11月7日の Extra Session はオンライン(zoom)のみで講義を行う予定のため、連絡は不要です。 5) スケジュールが変則的であることに注意してください。 6) 授業の回数は、Extra Session（九州大学法科大学院生向けの日本語によるオリエンテーション）と九州大学法学府修士課程国際コース(LL.M.)の学生が参加する第1回～第14回をあわせた全15回となります。 |
