1 ADMISSIONS POLICY
The various Master's programs in international economic and business law offered by the Graduate School of Law aim to admit students of outstanding intellectual ability who have the potential to flourish in an internationalized academic environment.
Based on almost twenty years of experience offering Master's level education in English, the Graduate School of Law has concluded that the quality of legal education of each student is positively affected by the presence of differing perspectives and viewpoints.
In developing our programs, we therefore seek to identify suitably qualified applicants from many different countries who are able to bring a wide range of background experiences to the program. This policy has resulted in a diversified student body and academic environment.
The admissions policy for the international programs therefore seeks to identify candidates with the necessary academic and personal skills to flourish in such an environment, whilst maintaining a commitment to the highest educational standards.
In evaluating each applicant, the Graduate School of Law places substantial weight on traditional measures of academic ability, namely undergraduate academic performance. In addition, all students are required to have a high level of English language proficiency.
We also recognize in our evaluation process that other factors and attributes contribute greatly to a person's ability to succeed as a law student. When assessing academic promise and achievement, the candidate's entire record will be considered. Interviews are conducted with most prospective candidates in order to assess their suitability for the program.
Other factors taken into consideration include extra-curricular activities, professional experience, career goals, evidence of and potential for leadership, unique life experiences, and any other factor that indicates that an applicant shows potential to contribute to the student body or otherwise make a distinctive contribution to the international programs in law and academic community at Kyushu University.
2 CURRICULUM POLICY
In accordance with the educational objectives as defined by the internal regulations of the Faculty of Law and Kyushu University, the graduate programs in international economic and business law adopt a curriculum that aspires:

  - To provide graduates with the necessary skills to make a positive contribution to society and to take on a proactive leadership role both locally, nationally or internationally.
  - To develop an international "sense" that provides graduates with the ability to flourish in an increasingly interconnected global society.
