Renmin University - Kyushu University Joint Workshop in Beijing
CSPA organized a Joint Workshop with Renmin University, which is one of the top Chinese university from December 5-6, 2012. The Workshop titled "Development and Governance in East Asia" comprised of sixteen presentations by the graduate students from both sides. The discussion was very lively and revolved around the multiple challenges that East Asia is facing today that includes territorial disputes, economic co-operation and various forms and potentials towards regional integration. The constructive and engaging dialogue and development of friendship were also extremely significant especially amid the deteriorating political situation in East Asia.

3rd Ateneo de Manila - Kyushu University Joint Workshop in Manila
Twenty graduate students from Kyushu University including CSPA and Japanese course students visited Manila for the 3rd Joint Workshop. The workshop was very lively and Assoc. Prof. Jiro Hasumi gave a Special Lecture which inspired the students. After the two days workshop, the group visited the organic farm in Central Luzon which was established by a NGO in partnership with the local government and the Northern Luzon Command of the National Army where we were warmly welcomed by the brass band followed by the presentation of their activities.

2nd Ateneo de Manila - Kyushu University Joint Workshop in Fukuoka
CSPA organized the 2nd Joint Workshop with Ateneo de Manila University inviting ten graduate students supported by the scholarship from JASSO, and Dr. Alma Salvador, Chair of Political Science. Dr. Salvador gave a special lecture entitled ‘Environmental Change and Altered Security Perspectives in Southeast Asia’ which was greatly appreciated by the students. The Filipino students experienced winter in Japan for the first time and greatly enjoyed their stay in Fukuoka.

1st Ateneo de Manila - Kyushu University Joint Workshop in Manila
CSPA organized a joint workshop in co-operation with the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. The second year CSPA students as well as the graduate students from Ateneo de Manila University presented their research followed by comments and discussions. The students were inspired by the lively discussions and exposed to the Philippine society which has achieved democratization in 1986 with a vibrant civil society.

2010 CSPA Shikanoshima Workshop
CSPA organized an annual workshop at Shikanoshima, an ancient island in the Hakata Bay which appears in some of the historical documents as early as the 8th Century. This is to welcome the first year students to CSPA program and strengthen the research capability of the second year students.

Joint Seminar with Ajou University of Korea
The CSPA students visited Ajou University in Suwan, Korea to participate in a joint seminar on “Promoting International Understanding in the Era of Globalization” .
The seminar took place at Ajou University located 50km west of Seoul on March 11, then a cultural visit on the following day by the courtesy of Ajou University. Then, the CSPA students moved to Seoul and visited the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) at the border of the South and the North Korea.
