Professor Pedro A. de Miguel Asensio

Pedro DE MIGUEL ASENSIO is Chair Professor of Private International Law at the Law Faculty of the Complutense University of Madrid. He is also Vice-Dean of that Faculty, Co-Director of its Master of Laws Programme on International Business Law and of the joint LL-B Programme between the Complutense University and the University of Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is a member of the European Max Planck Group for Conflict of Laws in Intellectual Property (www.cl-ip.eu) and one of the authors of the Draft Principles for Conflict of Laws in Intellectual Property published in 2009. He was awarded a Law Degree (1990) and a Ph.D. in Law (1995) by the Complutense University and an LL.M. by the University of Amsterdam (1991). He has been a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School in 2005 and 2006. He has given lectures and conferences in many countries, including the USA, Japan, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina…. He has significant experience as legal consultant in major international commercial litigation. He has published many books and articles on a wide range of topics, especially in the fields of international business law, intellectual property and electronic commerce.
