Hideaki IRIE

AREAS OF RESEARCH

Conflict Management

Hideaki Irie is Professor of Conflict Management. He teaches the lecture titled "Mediation and other conflict management approaches" in the LL.M. course. His lecture provides a unique experience for students because of the interactive nature of the class which includes mediation roleplays and other active opportunities. In Kyushu University, he also teaches undergraduate classes and a law school class. He is a board member of the Japan Association of the Law of Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He also serves as a board member of the Japanese Association of Sociology of Law. He is a member of the research committee of Japan ADR Association. He has been

serving as a mediation trainer in Japan Arbitration Association since 2006. He also provides mediation training to Bar Association-based ADR centers and other practitioners organizations.
