Ryu Kojima specializes in Intellectual Property Law and Cultural Policy. He teaches courses on Intellectual Property, Creative Industries, Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, Law and Development, Institutional Analysis of Law, etc. The range of his scholarship is very broad, including Creative Industries, Artistic Patronage, Industrial Heritage, Responsible Research and Innovation, Innovation Ecosystems, etc., adopting interdisciplinary approach. He received his LL.B. from The University of Tokyo Faculty of Law in 2000, and LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 2003. Between 2000 and 2005, he served as a Research Fellow at The University of Tokyo Faculty of Law.
Kojima has taught in Kyushu University Faculty of Law since 2005. He was a Visiting Scholar at The East Asian Legal Studies Program at Harvard Law School from 2002 to 2004, Visiting Fellow at The Asian Law Institute at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore in 2007, and a Visiting Scholar at Max Planck Institute for Innovation and ompetition from 2013 to 2015. Kojima has been engaged in several activities at Agency for Cultural Affairs, including the Subcommittee on Legal and Basic Issues and Subcommittee of International Issues, Subdivision of Copyright, Council for Cultural Affairs.
